Be mine already!!

in this day and age of instant gratification, which as a Gen-x-er is not something i grew up with, but is definitely something i have become accustomed to, i WANT this thing NOW!!

I is professional now!!

With Gary and the Avalanche going into Alpha and my minions busily testing all of the things, my Admob account is now giving me some love. To the tune of $2. Hell yeah!!

So now i can say I am a professional game developer as I am getting paid for my work!! sweet 🙂

Big thanks to my minions for helping me out with testing, you guys are the best. <3

A sneak peak at my next project – Ginger Ninja

This ones a moredragons.studio exclusive, so if your seeing this then thx for checking out my website and not just the socials.

This little guy is the ginger ninja and is a game I am going to build for my son Aaron, who is a green belt in Taekwondo at age 5. #prouddad 🙂

Art is being developed by the super talented Daniel Nees.

The basic idea is that the Ginger Ninja has stolen a sacred artifact from the top of an ancient Japanese temple and the guards are chasing him as he makes his escape.

I think its cool that one day not too far away my son will be able to download and game and show his mates and tell them that this character is based on him.

Kids Coding

Recently I was asked to get involved with a great initiative at our local co-working space Collab Highlands. During school holidays they are going to be running kids coding workshops.

We had our first “test run” a few months ago with a few guys from Apple there to show us how it was done and to watch and guide us through our first class.

Today was our first solo flight and it could not have been more fun. I’ve always enjoyed the mentoring side of development and this took it to a new level. Introducing kids, as young as 4, to the ideas and concepts being software development is truly inspiring. You take for granted, after a while, that anything is possible (given enough time and money), however, when one of your kids wants to build a game where a unicorn jumps from rainbow to rainbow as a game and you realize you could totally built that for them in a day is really quite special.

Definitely something I a going to proactively pursue moving forward. Already working on a game development course idea for teenagers. Watch this space…
